Tendinitis Pain Relief

Tendinitis is something I think everyone has to deal with at some point in their lives. Tendinitis is an inflammation or irritation of a tendon - a thick cord that attaches bone to muscle. It can occur within any of the hundreds to tendons in the body but is most apt to occur in the tendons that we use the mots, especially if we put repeated strain on them. Common areas of strain are elbows, shoulders, hips, wrists, knee, ankle or heel.

When tendinitis flairs up here are two different ways to deal with it. You can either create a essential oil blend or layer the essential oils on the tendon that's causing you pain. Can can apply the oils topically to the area 2 or 3 times per day until the pain is reduced.

Recipe One: Create a blend of all the pain reducing essential oils
9 drops Basil or Marjoram
6 drops Lemongrass
6 drops Cypress
6 drops Peppermint

Rub the oil blend into the area that's causing pain.

Recipe Two: Instead of mixing all the oils together, layer them one at a time a few minutes apart.

2/3 drops of Basil or Marjoram (helps with inflammation and pain)
2 drops Lemongrass (helps to mend damaged tissue)
2 drops Peppermint (helps "drive" the oil deeper into the tissue)
2 drops Cypress (increases circulation and speeds up healing)
